Currently: {Vol. 5} | Fall is Here

Here’s another installment of “currently,” which is a link-up series that I participate in every Monday with lots of other lovely blogs through one of my favorites – A Mama Collective. It’s basically a weekly post in which I give you the rundown on everything I’m currently up to. This week’s installment is something new. It’s themed.. and the theme is Fall, so I shall at least try to stick to that. Here goes… 🙂

Thinking About | |  Fall. Or rather… the some of the things – pleasant and unpleasant – that the fall season tends to bring to my home every year. The pleasant things Fall tends to bring about are as follows: cooler weather (I live in Florida, so this is something I have yet to see this year but am definitely looking forward to!), the start of the Holidays, MY WEDDING, fun decoration-making ideas (thank you, Pinterest!) and pumpkin everything – lattes, pies, cakes, candles, plugins… gah! I love it! The unpleasant things Fall tends to bring to my home and has brought in the last week are colds! I’ve been sick since last Tuesday, Haley just came down with the dreadful thing for a second time this morning and Matt informed me that he’s been feeling terrible since before work yesterday. It’s been insane! I’m disinfecting the entire house and praying to God that everyone is well by the time the wedding comes around in just over two weeks! *crosses fingers*

Watching | | All the new and returning shows! TV is kind of a huge obsession of mine, and I love when all of my shows start coming back in the Fall (New Girl, Once Upon a Time, The Voice…. there are so many of them!). I also like checking out some of the new shows that premiere throughout the season. So far “Red Band Society” has got me hooked. “Gotham” and “Flash” are the other two I’m looking forward to. If you’ve got any others that you’d like to recommend, let me know. I’ll set my DVR!

Reading | | Still reading my devotional book, “Growing Strong in God’s Family,” and also thinking about starting “Eleanor & Park” by Rainbow Rowell. I’ve heard great things about it.

Thankful For | | My church family. I’ve had some pretty bad experiences when it has come to church in the past… at least at my old one… and that’s a blog for another time, but last year I decided to visit and then quickly joined an amazing church in my town called Real Life. It’s a nondenominational Christian, it’s amazing… I’m loving it, Haley’s loving it, Matt’s loving it and I recently talked my parents into attending and they joined officially last week. I made the decision to becoming a more involved member a few months ago by joining a Life Group bible study, and then volunteering in the children’s ministry classes and at the welcome desk. I’m really enjoying it. There are so many beautiful people there who really do care about every single attendee. They go out of their way to make everyone feel welcome, to make everyone their friend… and that’s something I haven’t seen in a long time. I haven’t seen one “clique” in that place. It’s just not tolerated there and I love it. The people there are quickly becoming my church family, and it’s amazing! I encourage you to check out their site and maybe watch a few of the sermons on there if you’re interested. It’s really an awesome church!

Enjoying | | My newly rearranged Pinterest boards. Anyone who knows me knows I’m a little bit OCD about how things are organized and my Pinterest boards were driving me insane! I had a lot of broadly categorized boards (i.e. “Holidays” for all of the holidays and “Food” for everything food-related), and it was getting a little crazy… so I fixed it up a bit. Now I’ve got a board for everything – my favorite one being my Halloween/Thanksgiving/Fall board. Come follow me if you’re like me and you like that sort of thing. I’ll surely return the favor! 😉

Well, that’s all for me in this installment. Hopefully I’ve “Fall-ed” it up enough for everyone! Join the link-up so that I can come get all up in your “currently” posts with my comments!

With love, Britt*

  1. I am excited about fall t.v. too! I am behind one season on Once Upon a Time. I need to binge watch that season before the new ones starts. Yikes! I am excited about Gotham too! I have been curious about The Red Band Society. I might watch the pilot this afternoon after hearing you say it’s good.

    1. Once Upon a Time was great last season, and they just put that up on Netflix so binge watching is completely doable! 😉 The Red Band Society was great! I’ve watched it about four times in order to get my family members hooked on it too. Let me know what you think of it! 😉

  2. I had to laugh at you self-proclaimed OCD Pinterest organization needs…I have been feeling the same way with my huge “Clever Crafts” board that encompasses all elementary Catholic catechism lessons/crafts. And yes..one by one we all have colds here too- hope that you get to feeling better soon! 🙂

    1. Thank you so much for the well wishes. I’m hoping that this cold leaves our household very soon!! And yes! I’m so glad that I am not the only one who had started feeling that way about my Pinterest boards. It was driving me INSANE! Now I think that my OCD has shown through a little too much because I have about 15 different boards just under the “food” categories!

Thank you for visiting and for the comment! I always enjoy a little bit of feedback.:)
